#14 is great. Haha! Funny article, seems like a really down to earth guy.
The quote that I was referring to was specifically referring to a quote by one of the Killzone devs on the Guerrilla boards, which are blocked for me at work. If you search for it, it's easily found. Another example I believe, was from a video (of the producer?) of Unreal Tournament from last E3 when Epic was able to bring it over very quickly from PC to PS3. Most of my internet access is blocked at work, but this is what I could find on Deano from Ninja Theory's blog:
"...
Most reviews that I've seen have said that the devs were surprised at how fast they could get their engine and game up and running on the PS3 kits. Please provide a source stating that PS3 development is more expensive, slower, and difficult. You're as bad as theMART, jumping in every thread and posting the same things over and over.
BTW, great article. Nice to think of all the AAA games that are in the works for the PS3.
To jay da xbox baller - Confirmed source please?
Seems like MS already cleared the way for this with DOA4 and CoD2.
No seriously, I hope that devs don't start getting lazy in not making sure their products work correctly before being launched. Gamers are paying big money for their products and if they are not working correctly out of the box, that is unacceptable. Then it'll be just as bad as the PC. While PC games are nice because they can be patched later, it also makes it easier for a developer to rush things just to ...
Agreed on the Gears of War. Halo 3 is hard to tell because they've only released in-game cinematics, versus this is actual gameplay. But I believe Halo 3 will probably look at least this good, Bungie is taking their time and I'm sure that MS is putting a lot of pressure to make it the killer app for 360.
Regardless, this game still looks great and will only look better down the line.
Looks very nice, does anyone know when this one is expected to be released? Also, is this a propietary engine that Konami is using? Looking forward to seeing more on this game down the line, it just made it into my top 5 to watch for.
I could see it happening more for episodic content, such as the way that Valve is handling the new episodes for Half Life. Love it or hate it, they've said that these episodes are what is Half Life 3. I think that Valve is ahead of the game here and that MS and Sony will go in this direction.
Broadband speeds have increased dramatically, but I know that my download speeds haven't increased any over the last year or so. Mine still caps out at around 300-400k/sec (most servers...
Still waiting for your comment on this one, TheMART. And since when does the acceptance of the tilt feature among devs hinge on what LAUNCH titles use the feature? Hmmm?..
This is for smaller, arcade like games like Xbox Live. Did you read the article or did you read the subject and in your haste to write your standard anti-PS3 diatribe, you missed that part? E-distribution of DVD-9 sized games would take forever at this time, much less E-distribution of 25-50 gigabyte games. I doubt we'll be seeing that in this generation.
Agreed. The first God of War was one of my favorite games, and am looking forward to this one very much. Also, looking forward to whatever project David Jaffe is working on for the PSP, but who knows what it is. Maybe a God of War for PSP?
Can you tell me what the launch lineup for the PS3 is yet? Cause last I heard they haven't released it... The best games at the XCrap 360 launch were Kameo and CoD2. PS3 will have Warhawk (with supposedly PS2 graphics according to you), Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, new Rainbow Six game, Resistance: Fall of Man, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom, probably new Tony Hawk game and new Call of Duty 3.
I doubt that, Outlaw. It sounds like typical corporate dealings to me. Companies borrow and lend all the time, I work for a major bank and from what I've seen, it's not unusual.
Which is a more casual gamer, your average Halo fan, or your average Final Fantasy or MGS fan?
But in further response to your comment, your average PS2 gamers are the ones that bought a PS2 when it had been around for years and had been through several price drops. It'll be the same this time around. Hardcore gamers will sustain a console through the launch while the manufacturer continues to streamline the process and make it more cost-effective. There will still be losses...
Quit with the straw-man argument. Of course Warhawk is the only confirmed launch game to use the tilt functionality, they're the only ones that knew about it prior to E3. No news has really been announced for PS3 launch games, or any games really that wasn't made known at E3. Numerous devs have expressed a desire or made known that they will be using the tilt functionality, I haven't read one interview yet that said that a dev wasn't going to use it. They just can't confirm if they will o...
Lame update, what do you expect him to say?.. "So we had the whole office playing the new Halo 3, and then we realized that it was utterly boring and a derivative game of every good PC FPS ever made..." Of course not, he's going to say it was a blast and not really say any kind of meaningful update because they don't want to spill the beans this far in advance. The things that I like about the Halo franchise is that for a console game, the controls are perfect. They are very tigh...
Man, there's a lot of racist people on here that can't stand Japanese people.. If I were Japanese and stumbled across this site, I'd be pissed. TheMART needs to go back to his XCrap 360 and quit posting on here so much. Don't you have a life?
Is anyone surprised that the XCrap 360 is doing so poorly in Japan? All they have is shooters at this point and an occasional racing game or DOA. MS is either going to have to give up and quit wasting time marketing in Japan, or qui...
The 360 got the idea from PC's.. it's nothing new. It's the natural result of having a console that has a hard drive and is more like a computer. OMG, PS3 is copying the 360 because it has a hard drive.. OMG, the 360 is copying the PS2 because it uses DVD-9's.
Exactly, I could see this being a very entertaining game for having friends over to play casually. Looks ok in screens, but in motion looks much better with all the fast paced action going on.
It will probably be the exact same price and look pretty much the same. If any difference, maybe slightly better on PS3, but not much different. Good news that this is a launch title, I know I'll be buying it.
